FAQ
When is it?

We are hosting an in-person Portfolio Review on Saturday, November 18 at the University of Arizona campus. Prospective students can have their work reviewed for immediate feedback and admission recommendation to the School of Art!

What is it?

Art Days at the UA is an outreach and recruitment event in which we invite local high school and community college teachers and their students to visit our school during class sessions and become familiar with our programming.

In addition, there is also a weekend Portfolio Review program in which students interested in applying to the School of Art can bring their work and get an immediate admission recommendation from our faculty. It is geared toward those who will be applying to one of our School of Art programs, but anyone who would like to learn more about us is welcome to join. We have a program of tours, activities, workshops and meet & greets scheduled during the event.

Where is it?

The Group Tours and Portfolio Review are in-person in the School of Art on the University of Arizona campus. The University of Arizona School of Art is located at 1031 N. Olive Rd, on the southeast corner of Speedway Blvd. and Park Ave. in Tucson, AZ.

Visitor parking is available in the Park Avenue Garage north of Speedway on Park Avenue. Surface lots are permit only from 7am-5pm on weekdays. Parking in these lots are free after 5pm. View the UA Parking and Transportation interactive map.

I can't make it. Can I schedule a tour of the School of Art and get my portfolio reviewed at another time?

Yes! Contact our advising department (520-621-2618) to set up a tour and ask about getting in touch with a faculty member in your area of interest. Unfortunately, Art Days at the UA is the only opportunity outside of the regular admissions process that allows you to get your portfolio reviewed for admission into the program.

Please visit our website for admissions information and find out how to submit your application, or call us for more information at 520-621-7570.

What does the portfolio review consist of?

The portfolio review is how our faculty assesses a student’s artwork for acceptance into the program. Please sign up for the review in advance. You will meet one-on-one with a professor in your area of interest and discuss your work and interests.

Please bring 8 original pieces of work, or digitally reproduced examples. The pieces you choose, the manner in which you present it and the medium are up to you and can reflect your personal creativity, inventiveness, and skills. We have put together some tips and guidelines, but they are not meant to constrain you.
